The Rode VideoMic exhibits an unusually wide bandwidth for its size and is the best full size shotgun we've seen in this price range. It is ultra lightweight, yet rugged due to ABS construction. The VideoMic is powered by a standard 9 Volt battery and offers a Low Battery LED status indicator and a switchable high pass filter to reduce unwanted low frequency rumble. The VideoMic attaches to any camcorder that has the standard hot-shoe fitting and utilizes a stereo mini jack for audio output. Rode makes a windsock for this mic called the Dead Cat which is just a furry sock that you can pull on right over the foam windscreen included with the mic and is easy to store in your carrying bag.
